Almost every movie enthusiast nowadays is extremely excited for the 24th of May, when the long-awaited Hollywood movie, Aladdin, will be released in theatres! The famous Disney fairytale movie of 1992 is resurrected once more by contemporary and popular Hollywood stars. The Director is Guy Ritchie, the scenario writers are John August and Guy Ritchie, in cooperation with the cast: starring Will Smith playing the role of the genie, Naomi Scott playing the role of princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Nassim Pedrad enacts Dalia, Numan Acar impersonates Hakim, Billy Magnussen as prince Anders, Navid Negahben as the Sultan, Kamil Lemieszewski as Ali’s servant and Adam Collins as the city’s guard. Aladdin folktale has always been interesting due to its Arabic origins as well as its Middle Eastern characteristics. Aladdin is a fantasy movie, and luckily for science fiction lovers too, the movie is considered to be this genre as well. Not only that, but it is also regarded as adventure and action as well as a family movie. Basically, it is a friendly movie with a lot of comedy and suspense that would make your jaws hit the floor!
The movie is a domesticated version of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp fairytales. This 2019 recreation of the 1992 movie would overwhelm hearts and captivate the audience indeed. The movie’s central figure is Aladdin and his devoted friend, the monkey “Abu”. After Aladdin meets the beautiful princess Jasmine and falls in love with her from the first sight, he stumbles upon an enchanted lamp which happens to be a genie’s home. The genie “Will Smith” tells Aladdin that he has 3 wishes only which he can fulfil for him only. Consequently, they both collaborate and lure Jasmine to reciprocate love to Aladdin whom the Genie has transformed into an attractive prince. The plot deviates a little bit from the original story, so watching it would be a new experience. The characters in the movie Aladdin have Arabic names and Middle Eastern roots; and the audience gets the opportunity of living one of the Arabian nights. The audience would enjoy the Arab-Eastern traditions, culture, dress code and exotic lifestyle. The diversity of the cast is also an element of marvel.
The actors and actresses in the movie have different ethnicities and come from different backgrounds; and this adds more value to the movie. The audience will become nostalgic for their childhood while watching the movie. One of the songs that would give you goosebumps in the movie is “A Whole New World” that has always been catchy since ever! What is more intriguing is the fact that the movie seems to have a more Indian taste despite the supposedly Arab origins of the folktale. To be precise, the movie could also be regarded as a very successful traditional Bollywood movie, due to the vibrant performances and the lavish and colourful costumes.
The mash of the Indian and Arab cultures in this American produced movie turns out to be a huge accomplishment because it attracts the audience to explore something outstanding and so exotic as such! When all is said and done, you might find this movie looking like Indian, smelling like Bollywood, and sounding like American. That’s a good mix that brings different civilizations together in a fictional musical movie. What is also really appealing is the sense of humour used in the movie to make it funny, light-hearted and appropriate for all ages. The dances in the movie as well are good additions; and the Indian audience in particular would enjoy them exceptionally. The visual effects too are stunning and captivating, and the graphics are appealing to the eye. It is a recommended movie for this summer and the trailers are too good to be true, they arouse your curiosity even though you already know what the whole plot is about! You still would love to watch how things would happen and how the stars would perform.
